Independent network architecture and cyber security consultancyLondon · Essex · Kent · UK & Europe
Hello, I’m Matthew.

I design networks that businesses rely on.

I work directly with MSPs, ISPs and technology consultancies to solve complex BGP, IPv6, resilience, DDoS and 100G infrastructure challenges—without layers of junior consultants or account management.

I have spent more than two decades designing, operating and troubleshooting networks. I built 39D into an award-winning MSP and still remain hands-on because critical infrastructure decisions deserve direct senior attention.

01

I understand the live environment

Good architecture has to survive real customers, real traffic, carrier faults, change windows and commercial pressure—not just look tidy in a diagram.

02

I strengthen your existing team

I can work openly, as a specialist subcontractor, or white-labelled behind an MSP or larger consultancy while protecting your customer relationship.

03

I stay through delivery

From discovery and design through migration, testing and handover, I remain involved when the important decisions and difficult moments happen.

Selected project stories

Complex work, explained clearly.

Client identities remain confidential, but the engineering challenges, decisions and outcomes are real.

Service provider transformation

A new 100G core without losing sight of the live network.

Replacing a constrained legacy platform with dual MikroTik carrier routers, resilient internal routing, RPKI and a controlled customer migration plan.

Multi-carrier routing

Turning a collection of connections into a clear routing strategy.

Redesigning policy across transit providers, internet exchange route servers and direct peers so path choice, resilience and announcements became intentional.

Network transformation

Defined programmes including BGP redesign, IPv6, high availability and core upgrades.

Typically £15,000–£50,000+

Critical intervention

Senior help for major incidents, risky migrations and difficult routing or resilience problems.

“I remain directly involved because critical network decisions should not be delegated through layers of account management.”
Why I stay hands-on

My role is to bring calm, clarity and experience to the moments that carry the most technical and commercial risk. That means listening first, explaining trade-offs honestly and leaving your team with something they can operate confidently.
