People, place and technology

Building stronger professional and technology communities.

My work is rooted in Essex, where business relationships, digital infrastructure and local skills all shape the region's ability to grow.

Professional networking

Elevating Business

Elevating Business brings together entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals through networking events, workshops and useful local connections across Essex and surrounding counties.

I believe the best professional networks are built on consistency, useful introductions and a willingness to help other people succeed. This complements my technical consultancy work: strong infrastructure matters, but trusted relationships are often what enable ambitious projects to happen.

Local digital infrastructure

Major datacentre developments in Essex

Essex is becoming increasingly important to the UK's digital and AI infrastructure. That creates opportunities for employment, technical skills, connectivity, local supply chains and professional services—alongside legitimate questions about power, sustainability, planning and community impact.

Independent commentary: The projects below are discussed as significant local developments. This website does not claim to represent, advise or deliver these developments unless a formal engagement is stated separately.
Loughton

Proposed sovereign AI datacentre

A major AI and high-performance computing datacentre has been proposed in Loughton. Public reporting has described plans for substantial compute capacity, new construction and operational roles, while the project has also attracted planning and community scrutiny.

For local businesses, developments of this scale may create demand for specialist connectivity, cyber security, resilient networking, construction support, facilities services and technical training.

North Weald

Proposed Google datacentre

Google has proposed a datacentre on land at North Weald Airfield allocated for employment use. The development has been the subject of public consultation and planning discussion.

North Weald already has a strong aviation and business identity. A major digital infrastructure project could create new opportunities for local suppliers and skills, but it should also be accompanied by transparent discussion around environmental impact, energy, transport and long-term community benefit.

A practical local role

Turning major investment into local opportunity.

The strongest outcome would be more than new buildings. It would include local technical careers, apprenticeships, resilient fibre and power infrastructure, opportunities for Essex suppliers, and meaningful collaboration between technology companies, educators, councils and professional networks.

Through 39D, Elevating Business and my consulting work, I want to contribute practical experience to those conversations and help local organisations understand the networking, security and resilience requirements behind modern digital infrastructure.
